Takeaway: If you’re struggling to quit nicotine, you’re not alone. However, it is possible to break the habit, and hypnosis can help. Connect with me today to learn more about the process and whether it’s the right fit for you.
Smoking cigarettes is an unhealthy habit, that can become a nicotine addiction, and affects many people and those around them. Many smokers develop the habit in their younger years, when they have less perspective on how detrimental it can be to their health and lifestyle, especially with prolonged use. And in many cases, by the time someone realizes that their smoking habit is growing, always smoking socially or when stressed out, it is much tougher to pull out of that pattern.
Nicotine addiction is tough, if you’re in the process of quitting and you’re encountering physical and mental signs of substance withdrawal, you should consult a recovery professional and/or agency that knows how to navigate those situations. That being said, these are instances where nicotine isn’t the main driving factor for a person to smoke - it is more of a bad habit or pattern that the person has developed.
“I always smoke when I drink.”
“When I’m stressed out, a cigarette helps.”
Hypnotherapy can help by focusing on the habit and reframing the mind to approach those situations in a new way. Because you don’t need to smoke when you’re drinking. And cigarettes certainly aren’t the cure for stress. If you’re having a hard time quitting smoking because of social or personal patterns, I’m here to help! Schedule a consultation today.

Understanding the smoking cessation hypnosis process
Many people I work with are new to hypnosis. Often, they have preconceived notions of what hypnosis is and how it works based on what they've seen in the media. They may feel nervous or apprehensive, which is totally normal! Here, I'll break down what you can expect from smoking cessation hypnotherapy to help you decide whether it's right for you.
At the beginning of the process, we'll take time to explore how smoking affects your daily life. We'll also discuss your motivation to quit and identify the barriers that have prevented you from quitting smoking so far.
During hypnosis itself, you'll most likely feel calm and relaxed. I like to compare the feeling to a meditation practice or savasana in yoga. You might be surprised to know that we have all experienced a hypnotic state. In fact, you experience it every day when you start falling asleep or waking up!
In a hypnosis session, we tap into this natural state and add suggestions to help you stop smoking. These suggestions are usually positive beliefs or other mechanisms to empower you toward quitting. Most times, you'll be able to remember the suggestions I provide during a hypnosis session.
As we continue to reinforce these positive beliefs and emotions, you'll begin to feel more and more capable of kicking your nicotine habit.

Why choose hypnosis to quit smoking over other methods
I always recommend consulting with a medical or recovery professional if you're working toward quitting and especially if you're experiencing withdrawal symptoms. Hypnosis isn't a replacement for medical care or mental health counseling, but it can be a life-changing addition to your smoking cessation journey.
Traditional tools to help you quit smoking, like nicotine patches or nicotine gum, can often help people reduce cravings. However, they don't get to the root of the issue. Smoking is a behavior, and consuming nicotine in a different form doesn't help you understand the why behind your habit.
Hypnosis is a highly personalized treatment that helps you better understand the behaviors and beliefs that can contribute to your smoking addiction. Together, we'll explore the driving forces behind your habit and replace your limiting or harmful beliefs with positive, empowering ones.
