How Hypnotherapy Can Help Improve Your Sports Game!

Helping athletes enhance their sports performance is a three step process.

#1- Uncover the Subconscious Block

#2- Increase Self Confidence

#3- Make Success Familiar Subconsciously

HOW TO UNCOVER YOUR SPORTS BLOCK

I ask my clients questions to help them discover what the subconscious block is that may be getting in the way of them performing at their best.  Sometimes it is a fear of failure or maybe it’s fear of success.  If this is the case, talk through this with them to come up with some logical counter evidence that this fear can be released.

Maybe the block or negative belief was a negative comment from a coach,  trainers or a parent in the past.  Maybe they were told they were a lousy player once or maybe they were told it again and again and again.  Either way, it can get planted in the subconscious mind and can create problems for them.  For example, if one of their early coaches used motivation by fear or insults, it could really create blocks for young athletes who are still very suggestible to what the person in authority said to them.  As a hypnotherapist our job is to uncover the subconscious belief that they learned somewhere along the way.  Once we find it, we can re-write it to be a more supportive belief that will enhance their sports performance.

HOW HYPNOSIS HELPS BUILD YOUR SPORT SELF-CONFIDENCE

I ask my client to share good evidence that they are good at their sport.  How do they know they are good at it?  Have them share some of their wins and proud moments with you.  Once I’ve gathered all this positive proof that they are a great athlete, I can flood their subconscious mind with these positive suggestions while in hypnosis. This will help build that internal self-confidence and help replace the negative self-talk with the positive.  Through hypnotherapy you can help them to get out of their own way and play their best!

HOW HYPNOSIS MAKES WINNING THE GAME A NO BRAINER

MY job as a Los Angeles hypnotherapist is to make successful sports performance familiar to the subconscious mind.  I ask my client consciously how they would know if they were playing their best game. What would they see, smell, taste, hear, how would they perform and how would it feel?  Then in hypnosis we do a “dress rehearsal” of them playing at peak performance.  When they visualize and imagine this it becomes a subconscious “known” and builds a support system to help it happen in real life.

As with any hypnotic suggestions.  The more you hear and visualize winning the game the stronger and more successful you become at your sport. I make a recording so my clients can listen back to it regularly and before any games, try outs or tournaments.  If I discover that nerves are getting in the way of the clients sports performance, we can create an anchor (mentally and physically) to help them be able to relax their body and focus their mind anytime they need it.

So whether you are wanting to improve your golf game, tighten up your tennis game, be the best basketball player on the court or a star soccer player, hypnotherapy can be key to getting your mind in the game at a whole new level!
